I lived in Haʻikū with my family for a couple of years, and I worked ballrooms at Grand Wailea, so Maui doesn’t feel like a road trip. It does need more lead time than Oʻahu. Gear is either sourced on island or rides over on the barge, so the advance starts earlier and the gear list gets locked sooner.
Maui shows add a travel day at a reduced rate, plus airfare, lodging, a car and per diem at cost. For multi-day programs I stay on island so there’s no flying the morning of.
